Results
See results gallery
Intervention
Rhythidectomy surgery lasts two hours. They touch each other, the forehead, the cheeks, the double chin and the neck. Many times the eyelids are also treated to optimize the result. Occasionally, an application of aesthetic injectable filler (btx), hyaluronic acid to define the lips, or lipoinjection to treat the nasolabial grooves is also performed.
The incisions are peri- auricular and will produce imperceptible scars in more than 95% of cases. In whom healing is abnormal we have treatments that will ultimately produce the expected result.
To improve the middle and lower thirds, Ritidectomy or Lower Lifting is practiced. The skin is detached from the cheek and neck in its entirety, pulling the skin and muscles (Musculoskeletal System of the neck), to return to its site the structures that have descended with the passage of time. The result is a scar that is barely visible, since it is located in the preauricular (in front of the ear) and post-auricular (behind the ear) regions.
Postoperatory
After the surgery, the patient is taken to the recovery room for 1 hour, after which he goes to his suite where he will remain 24 hours.
You will have your face with a bandage that is usually removed about two days later. The sutures will be removed 5 or 10 days later, at the discretion of Dr. Peña.
You will be prescribed medications to relieve pain and control inflammation. During the process the face will show swelling and bruising, which will go down as the days go by.
It is important to avoid smoking during this process and environmental smoke during the 2 to 4 weeks before and after surgery.
The first four days after a Lifting (rhytidectomy) there is a great edema that gradually goes down in such a way that from four to eight days you can go outside with the odd ecchymosis, which usually after 15 days nothing remains.
